Tekskil Industries was founded in 1981 by a group of engineers who were dissatisfied with the status quo.

The manager of a large corporate training department began troubleshooting a major operational issue video productions went routinely beyond the original delivery date and all were over the projected cost budget.

Debriefs with the video crews uncovered an astonishing number of retakes as the culprit. Too often actors forgot or stumbled critical script; half a dozen takes were commonly required to capture acceptable footage.

The production crew agreed an on-camera prompter was needed, but the only equipment available were massive studio set-ups, with 6 foot long conveyers of paper script being shepherded by dedicated operators, or Rube Goldberg contraptions, where scrolls of plastic film covered with handwritten script were wound by the camera lens. Several of the department members became intrigued with the market gap corporate video production was rapidly growing - and a fast survey confirmed a strong demand for a quality EFP style prompter.	Tekskil was born.
In the intervening years, the Tekskil team of engineers has designed and manufactured over two dozen innovative and revolutionary prompting products.
First off the line was the 909 series, a robust, lightweight monitor prompting system designed specifically for small studios. Its success was followed by the 909C, the industrys first integrated computer prompter.		It featured an on-board flat panel plasma display, simultaneous edit and prompt, a sophisticated communication system for remote feeds and a solid-state cartridge for secure script storage. Sales of the 909C boomed, and Tekskil soon was selling its products to an international market ranging from North America to Europe and even the Far East.
Tekskils founders continue to build prompting products with leading edge design and quality construction. No-tools set-up, machined aluminum components and state-of- the art electronics are Tekskil hallmarks.
Rather than buy LCD displays from the various vendors, Tekskil builds its own CRT and LCD displays to rigorous standards.
